Many types of childcare discuss the different ways in which children are cared for by adults or older children. One additional type of child care involves children caring for adults. Children as caretakers are most often seen in developing countries with restricted or hard-to-access medical assistance. Child caretakers are common in families where the parents are affected by HIV/AIDS and other illnesses that might limit their parental functioning.[21]
Overall, I am happy we are with KinderCare Whittier. The teachers and staff are genuine and show care for my daughter. I wish the building was brand new but it works. I'd recommend to friends and family. I'm happy to say we bring our daughter here. I'd tell anyone, take a tour, do your homework and make the best decision for you and your family. My happy social funny baby girl is not the same as the first day we brought her here, she has grown. She engages in playing games, initiates play, recognizes songs and corresponding hand movements and plays and is happier, more social, and funnier!

Yet what American children need is not a compromise between freedom and collectivism, but a full window shift in precisely the opposite direction: decrusting employment and child-care regulations to give families more freedom to care for their children according to their own preferences, strong governmental preferences for marriage and self-sufficient child raising, and a cultural shift to make it clear that families should be responsible for their own children, and that we expect people to make children only when they are capable of caring for those children without stealing the fruits of other people’s labor. What that requires is not so much money as it does marriage.

Let me just say that the only reason my children are not in this school anymore is for financial reasons. My son asked me if he could come back. I am very paranoid about where my children go when I am not with them. However with three kids needing childcare....it got really expensive. I love all the teachers and kids there. Maricruz was always amazing and i wish we could've stayed. Ms. Cole was also wonderful and became great friends with all 3 of my children! The school is very convenient for all of my needs and anyone who does send their kids their can feel good about their decision.
I have brought my son to this particular kindercare and I must say the school looks very run down. The teachers are not very nice or comforting to the kids when the parents are not around.  I have stood in a room next to where all the kids were and I must say I did not enjoy listening to the way they talk to the kids. Second of all, this particular center does not show me that they are challenging the kids on the educational part.  I have taken my son to a different kinder care location and have done SO MUCH MORE than this facility does or probably ever will.   AND seems to me that they are more worried about payment than they are about the care of the children here even though we have written contracts with them. I definitely DO NOT recommend this facility to any parent at all! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeCahRCgOfI&hc_location=ufi
The children at The Meadows spend at least 2 hours outside daily, we are the only school that writes this into our curriculum. We have many learning centers outside and our teachers take the curriculum that they develop outside to help engage the children in different environments. If the weather is too poor to go outside then we have an indoor playroom with a gigantic hand painted two level castle complete with slide, ball pit, dragon cave and fairy garden to engage their gross motor skill and help them burn off energy!

The children caregivers in many communities are deemed responsible to care for those younger than them and it is expected that they will do so. Adults are viewed as occasional supervisors of the caregiving while the caregivers are responsible for responding to the needs of each child. These young caregivers take pride in their responsibility and learn each child’s individual likes, dislikes, and habits.[22]

“Our daughter, Juliana, joined the TLE Aurora family at 8 weeks old and we could not be happier with our choice in a childcare facility. Ms. Bethany in the Infant A room is truly amazing! We are put at ease knowing that we have such a caring and loving teacher taking care of our daughter. She is truly dedicated to making sure Juliana progresses and has fun at the same time. Juliana always has a smile on her face when I drop her off in the morning and when I pick her up in the afternoon. We truly appreciate the staff at TLE Aurora for the way they have cared for our daughter as though she was family!”

Due to social pressure, parents of sick children in childcare may be willing to give unnecessary medical care to their children when advised to do so by childcare workers and even if it is against the advice of health care providers.[39] In particular, children in childcare are more likely to take antibiotics than children outside of childcare.[39]
It is normal for kids to have separation anxiety from their parents but that is not what is wrong here-it's something far, far worse. My son had terrible symptoms ever since the day he started; which he had never had before (he is the most easy going, happy, sociable baby). He started having nightmares and crying uncontrollably in his slee, waking up every 2 hours again, scared he would be alone, he started hitting his head on the floor and getting a bruise (he has never ever done anything like this!), he started putting non-food items in his mouth again, he started hitting (obviously a learned behavior from the day care, and come home with new scratches - I can't even explain how awful this place is! You have to trust your mom instincts and the signs from your child-the daycare tries to brainwash you saying "oh they just have to get used to it" blah blah um HELL NO!! When we would go pick him up it was almost as if he had been drugged or been given some sedative - his eyes were all glossed over and he didn't recognize us-it was the weirdest/scariest thing! He would scream and scream when we dropped him off, cry non-stop and latch to us begging us not to go-also clueing us in to how bad this place is.

Some jurisdictions require licensing or certification. Parents may also turn to independent rating services, or rely on recommendations and referrals. Some places develop voluntary quality networks, for example in Australia most childcare services are part of a national Quality Assurance system. Some places require caregivers to take classes in pediatric CPR and first aid. Most countries have laws relating to childcare, which seek to keep children safe and prevent and punish child abuse. Such laws may add cost and complexity to childcare provision and may provide tools to help ensure quality childcare.
I have experience for more than 5 years working with kids at pre-schools and regular childcare. Our kids have been going here since 6 months old, and are currently 2.5 and 4.5. They LOVE it here and look forward to returning every Monday. The teachers are wonderful and the center director keeps the center focused on the kids learning and being comfortable and happy. We love the optional classes, as well. One kids does spanish and the other music. It's amazing to see how much they learn here every week! The kids are always doing some new fun project or activity. Highly recommend.

Most of these are managed by a municipality and mostly government funded. The different types of institutions ranges from separate day-care institutions (Vuggestue), kindergartens with a day-care department (Integrerede institutioner) and in-home day-care (Dagpleje).[81]

If you have never seen, held, or cared for a six-week-old baby, the typical earliest time he may be deposited in daycare, you cannot truly understand how helpless and desperately needy such small people are. They are essentially still newborns. All they have known and loved in their life to that point, besides other people’s muted voices, is their mother. She is their bridge to the world, and they cling to her, first in utter dependence, and ideally later to go confidently off into that world because she’s taught them how.
The Office of Children and Family Services provides support for people and organizations interested in starting child day care programs in their communities. As a general rule, any child day care program planning to serve three or more children for more than three hours a day on a regular basis must obtain a license or registration. Before becoming licensed or registered, the applicant must show that the proposed child day care program meets requirements established to promote the health and safety of children in care.

This is precisely the opposite of what American children need. Most mothers do not want to work full time. Inasmuch as any significant demand for a nationalized child-care entitlement exists, it is largely driven by father abandonment or incapacity. Mother deprivation is not a sane response to a problem that largely exists due to father deprivation. It can, in fact, only make things worse.

"Miss Laura's" has been a wonderful second home for my daughter Helena.  Helena was undergoing a rough transition this year, it being the first year she was to be cared for without big sis right by her side.  Laura has made her home feel like a second home for Helena, and she makes nutrition important for the kids which I really like.  She also follows whatever requests nutritionally that I have, and she is super careful.  Helena's big sis has a severe peanut allergy, so Laura makes sure Helena never eats peanuts because she doesn't want to risk a problem when the two girls play in the afternoon.  And I Didn't even have to ask her to do that!! That's great!  Helena is really transitioning well and I think that is because of how Laura is helping it to feel like another home. My older daughter even constantly wants to stay with"Miss Laura." - Laura

The matter was initiated by a complaint filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut by Connecticut’s Center for Children’s Advocacy (CCA) alleging violations of Title III of the ADA.  Specifically, the complaint alleges that KinderCare refused to assist two children who had been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes with insulin administration.  A third complaint against KinderCare by the parent of another child with Type 1 diabetes was filed by CCA during the course of the investigation.  The government determined that KinderCare’s national policy and practice was that KinderCare staff would not directly administer insulin to children via a syringe or pen.  Instead, KinderCare required parents of the children identified in the complaint to appear at its facility to administer the insulin to their children or hire another person, at the parents’ own expense, to do so.

Many of our current economic and education paradigms are anti-family. They rob from the future to promote consumption today. That’s not coincidentally America’s dominant economic model, and it’s not sustainable. Borrowing from tomorrow has to end at some point, and the more we do it the worse the crash will be. The principle applies to government debt and spending as much as it does to robbing children of the mental and emotional development they need and get from an at-home mother in the early years.

I was searching for a preschool for my son in December 2017 then I came across this particular kindercare. So I called in and scheduled for an appointment to go get more information about the school, as I just walked in my first impression was Dirty; the floors in the waiting area and the visitors bathroom where so dirty that I was so disgusted despite it being 9am. The director came, took us for a tour in the classroom. Everything just seemed disorganized and not forgetting they had the wrong year written on the board for the kids. The kids' bathroom where so filthy. I watched one of the kids use the bathroom while the door was wide open and the teacher didn't care to remind him to wash his hands nor close the bathroom when using it. The director explained the school schedule and curriculum to us but my mind was already out of it all. http://youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eeCahRCgOfI

Our child has always been very healthy but  ever since attending Fountain Valley Kindercare our child has come home habitually sick and injured. Our child has come home with bruises from being bitten, lumps and bruises on the forehead from being hit in the face with rocks, had gaping wounds on knees and elbows, just to name a few of the school injuries. We have arrived to find our child's mouth full of small beads and buttons. This is a huge choking risk for a small child. It's as if there is no supervision going on there.

How Child Care Cost

In most cases children are taken care of by their parents, legal guardians, or siblings. In some cases, it is also seen that children care for other children. This informal care includes verbal direction and other explicit training regarding the child's behavior, and is often as simple as "keeping an eye out" for younger siblings.[2] Care facilitated by similar-aged children covers a variety of developmental and psychological effects in both caregivers and charge. This is due to their mental development being in a particular case of not being able to progress as it should be at their age.[1] This care giving role may also be taken on by the child's extended family. Another form of childcare that is on the rise in contrast to familial caregiving is that of center-based child care. In lieu of familial care giving, these responsibilities may be given to paid caretakers, orphanages or foster homes to provide care, housing, and schooling.
The day care industry is a continuum from personal parental care to large, regulated institutions. Some childminders care for children from several families at the same time, either in their own home (commonly known as "family day care" in Australia) or in a specialized child care facility. Some employers provide nursery provisions for their employees at or near the place of employment. For-profit day care corporations often exist where the market is sufficiently large or there are government subsidies. Research shows that not-for-profits are much more likely to produce the high quality environments in which children thrive."[18] Local governments, often municipalities, may operate non-profit day care centers. For all providers, the largest expense is labor. Local legislation may regulate the operation of daycare centers, affecting staffing requirements. In Canada, the workforce is predominantly female (95%) and low paid, averaging only 60% of average workforce wage. Some jurisdictions require licensing or certification. Legislation may specify details of the physical facilities (washroom, eating, sleeping, lighting levels, etc.).
There are links between the income, education, and importance of consistency and the well being of the child, to the parents, and the development of their child. Higher educated parents place more importance on the education of their children than the parents who do not have a college degree or have not graduated from high school. Likewise, parents who have a higher income level are more willing to part with their money to purchase a private tutor or nanny to assist the parent in the education of their child. They also tend to stress the importance of being socially inept.[30] The first few years of a child's life are important to form a basis for good education, morality, self-discipline and social integration. Consistency of approach, skills and qualifications of caregivers have been shown in many studies to improve the chances of a child reaching his or her full potential. Child care in much of western society is currently in crisis: there are not enough daycare spots, the cost for most parents is beyond their means, and child care staff are grossly underpaid. Starting wages for Early Childcare Educators start at $11 or $12, causing a high turnover rate, and decreases the likelihood of potentially safe, effective, and loving child care providers from even entering the field. For preschool teachers the average salary is about $28,570.[34] According to a survey done by HiMama, 68% of for-profit child care organizations ranked 'Labor' as their top risk and 65% ranked 'Talent and Recruitment' as their top priority for 2017.[35]

6. Personal Touch - The first few days were hard, more for me than for my daughter. I LOVED that I was sent photos of her throughout the day without being asked by the center directors. I can text or call in and ask for pic if I'm missing her. I love that they put out a calendar for the month with activities and fun things for the kids to participate in, for all ages. It feels like a community not a business transaction.

So I just enrolled my daughter to the discovery preschool class I have to say I have my doubts reading the reviews I have really high hopes for this daycare. She gets really excited to be going into class until we go into the classrooms then she just stars crying because she knows I'm leaving. I hope to see her excel  and bond more with the adults and kids in her class. Please I would to hear more from currently enrolled parents.

The quality of the center based child care can be very influential on the child and on their overall development. Recent study showed that children in low end classrooms saw the activities as forced while the children in high end classrooms had more memorable experiences.[12] Even though this being the case between high and low end classrooms, other aspects such as the child's background and living situation can play an important role in their development.[13] Active children may thrive in the educational activities provided by a quality commercial care center, but according to the National Center for Early Development and Learning, children from low quality centers may be significantly less advanced in terms of vocabulary and reading skills.[14] Classes are usually largest in this type of care, ratios of children to adult caregivers will vary according to state licensing requirements. Some positive aspects of commercial care are that children may gain a sense of independence, academic achievement, and socialization.[15] Not only is this age crucial for the improvement of their social skills, but also it begins the stages of understanding a classroom setting. Childcare is seen as a reasonable option because it is different than parenting, since it can be seen as more of a routine for the child.[11] This in turn will only have a negative impact on the child if the parent is not their for the emotional needs of the child.[11] Children are placed into centers of socialization and learn many similarities and differences from one another from a very young age.[11] Children are also placed into settings to develop their linguistics and cognitive abilities, which can be measured through observations.[13] Not only is this age crucial for the improvement of their social skills, but also it begins the stages of understanding a classroom setting. These early ages of the child's life are crucial or it would otherwise have a negative impact on their future paths.[12]

After high school I received an athletic scholarship to play softball. While in college I started a physical education program at a local Lutheran Church School. The people and the children became family to me and I was offered a part time teaching assistant job working with the kindergarten class. This is due to the rise of urban areas in developing countries and the need to keep up with the economic development.[83] There has always been many child care services available but due to the high costs, they were mainly unavailable for the low income families.[84] Childcare became a hot topic of discussion when more women were joining the workforce and the debate of how this would affect how the children would be raised.[85] Another topic of debate is how would the women pay for these expensive services while working minimum wage jobs or having limited times they could work, so the idea of subsidizes arose.[85] In specific to the child, the topic of “street children”, how and where children should grow up, was debated, and if they should be allowed to be considered part of the street instead of a particular home.[86] This issue was of great debate because it not only affects the child but also the community the child is in, since they usually seek out public spaces for shelter, food and play.[86] Childcare is generally broken into three general categories such as governmental institutions, religious organizations, and independent agencies (such as NGOS).[86] All of these take on the same objectives which are “containment, paternalist cure approach and street education.”[86]
A small child’s deep need for constant, loving attention from his mother is psychological as well as physiological. Psychological research indicates that a strong, positive attachment to one’s mother, particularly from birth to age three, provides a defining template for one’s ability to love and be loved throughout life. This crucial relationship affects socially important outcomes such as crime, aggression, and the ability to build a strong family.

In Scotland Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education is responsible for improving care and education for children from birth to age eighteen. This is implemented by inspections carried out by HMIE itself or by other members of inspection and review teams. Inspection reports include feedback from staff and parents as well as the inspectors, aiming to provide parents and carers information to help them decide whether a particular child care setting is providing good quality child care and meeting government standards.[25]

How Much Weekly For Child Care

Our dedicated teachers encourage students to be active and creative explorers, as well as independent, self-confident learners. In fact, at Cadence Academy Preschool, Smoky Hill, every student is treated as an individual and able to progress at his or her natural ability while still reaching desired age-level goals. In addition to core curriculum offered for preschool and Pre-Kindergarten children, we provide before and after care for school-age children.
We have been going to this Kindercare for about 7 months now and really like it. The center director, Heather, is great. She is not only approachable, but she is very hands on with the kids, so frequently you will find her in a classroom with the children. I love both my daughters teachers--they are warm and caring as well as great with my kids. It is also great that breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided (they even accomodate vegetarian diets). I highly recommend this place!

After our initial tour, I saw another parent picking up and asked if I could chat with them for a bit about her experiences and she'd been attending for about a year. She was happy and I asked if she could go to another daycare would she, she said no, she loved the teachers and her children loved the teachers. This was nice to get an on the spot answer.
Developmental benefits are also seen for older siblings or relatives tasked to care for younger children. For example, children with siblings are more likely to exhibit prosocial behaviors (such as the ability to take another's perspective or sharing with others) than children without siblings.[43] Additionally, sibling caretakers have the opportunity to develop deeper communication skills as they teach younger siblings to participate in everyday tasks.[43]
Developmentally, these child caretakers have shown certain positive associations that affect their future resilience in the face of adversity. Caring for disabled parents raises their sense of responsibility and maturity, increases social and life skills, fosters closer parent-child relationships, and enhances a child’s early sense of purpose. Children caring for sick or disabled parents also experience less anxiety surrounding their parents compared to children who have an additional caregiver for their disabled parent. This is because the children understand more about the illness and feel more in control over the situation.[21]

When we informed the director, Heather Cross, of the situation She told us that it was the first case of hand, foot and mouth in the center. When we arrived the next day to pick up our child's things we were informed by a teacher that there had been another prior case. There was a letter on the front door informing other parents that everything had been double sanitized. Yet all the children's blankets and pillows were not sent home or bagged up. Instead we found our child's blanket and pillow together with other children's blankets and pillows How can that be double sanitized?  This is the kind of negligent behavior that needs to stop.
The reason I did not give a full 5 points is because there were quite a few mornings where I did not feel fully supported by the staff during morning drop-offs. If my son would get clingy or cry at drop-off in the  mornings, two different daycare workers made insensitive comments on separate occasions about him crying - calling him a "mama's boy" or saying that I shouldn't baby him so much - instead of assisting me and trying to comfort him or hold him!! (My son is known to be an easy child overall with a good temperament/personality, he's usually always smiling or laughing throughout his days).

Childcare costs in London significantly hinder the living standards of the capital’s residents. A recent study by Loughborough University, funded by Trust for London, found the minimum budget required for a couple with two children to reach a decent standard of living is 22% more in Inner London and 21% more in Outer London than compared with the rest of the UK. The significantly higher costs of childcare influences this heavily, along with housing and transport.[24]
Kitas are typically run by public (i. e. communal) and "free" carriers (such as the churches, other religious organizations, social organizations with a background in the trade unions and profit-orientated corporations), and subsidized by the states (Länder). In this case, the care is open to the general public—e. g. a Protestant or Muslim child may claim a place in a Kita run by the catholic church.
